Time flies

Damn, a lot of cool things have happened since the last time I wrote, but finding the time to write about all of them has been next to impossible. Beginning Sept 18 and ending Oct 23 we’ve hosted Ben’s parents, our Kiwi friends, Aaron and Toni, and our Danish friend, Peter, and during this last month we’ve done heaps, heaps of things that not even Ben and I had yet done ourselves. We stumbled upon several incredibly stunning hikes up the Poudre Canyon, which reveal just a touch of the pure beauty of Ft Collins and the surrounding area; we spent the weekend in Vail hiking, shopping like tourists, and oohing and aahing as we watched the first snowfall of the year; we went on a VIP tour of New Belgium Brewery, which never gets old since we see/learn something new each time and taste a new beer that’s been tapped in the “cathedral”; we carved pumpkins with Aaron and Toni who had never done such a bizarre thing; we discovered a myriad of killer MTB trails right out our back door, fueling my impetus to ride my MTB more in the last month than I have since I bought my bike 7 years ago; we went to “geeks who drink” at Coopersmiths Pub, a fun trivia game that might involve naming the specialties of various porn mags; I started teaching spinning at Miramont; and I have taken heaps of photos that I am still editing.

Up next I’ll be driving to Denver to the Velo Swap where I’ll hand over my Fuji TT bike for Ed to sell to its next owner. It will be a sad event but the thought of getting a brand new, smokin’ hot Specialized built up with SRAM Red keeps my tears at bay.

Stay tuned for a slideshow…

Our good mates from New Zealand, Aaron and Toni, flew into DIA the other day to visit us for 2 weeks. It’s great having good friends in the house, and even better when they’ve got sweet accents to keep us constantly entertained!

Oh, and I am going to soon become a spinning instructor. Now up 1, 2, 3. Down 1, 2, 3. Work it, work it.
