Can you say BAD DAY?!

Sooooooo, we pulled into Fayetteville Wednesday evening after a long day of traveling from Nashville. We immediately pulled the bikes out of the trailer to roll out for a short spin. Amazingly, the legs felt good all things considered. The roads around our host house are smooth, constantly up and down, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. I’ve never been to AR before and I have to admit I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far. However, I was NOT impressed with my ride yesterday. Damn, I sucked. Period. I wouldn’t go so far to say that uphill time trials are really my thing, but I wouldn’t have guessed that I would have finished 29th on the day either. For whatever reason, I had BAD legs and a BAD day. But, it’s time to move on. Every day is a new day, and a road race is a whole new ballgame.

Granted I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning when I heard the distant roll of thunder and the deluge of rain that was pounding the ground outside, but it is what it is. The rain has stopped for now but I think it’s going to be a wet day on the bike. Let’s just hope it’s a better day on the bike.
